Position Summary
- The Deputy Provost is the second-highest ranking administrator at the college. He/she is responsible to the Provost in running the affairs of the College. Candidate must be a registered nurse and midwife, licensed by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria as a nursing educator.
Responsibilities
- Shall be responsible to the Provost for the efficient day-to-day running of the College.
- Shall deputize for the Provost in his/her absence.
- Works in collaboration with the Registrar to implement operational, administrative, and academic plans and policies to ensure that quality educational services are being delivered.
- Acts as liaison in communicating and collaborating with administrators, faculty, students, and other constituents in the delivery of high educational standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the College Management and Governing Council.
Qualifications / Experience
- Preferred master’s degree in Nursing,
- PhD will be an added advantage.
- The candidate must be registered and licensed to practice by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
- The candidate must have at least five (5) years of post-registration experience as a Nurse/Midwife Educator.
- Ideal candidate must possess sufficient evidence of continual scholarship and contribution to knowledge through research and publication in reputable journals.
- Possess a proven track record of leadership and administrative experiences in related environments.
- Demonstrated leadership ability to work effectively and collegially with administrators, faculty, staff, and students.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; effective interpersonal skills and sensitivity to issues affecting a wide range of constituencies.
- Demonstrated commitment to high quality education, curriculum development and faculty development.
- He/She must also have an understanding of legislation and compliance issues that affect personnel and the delivery of quality educational services to students.
- A working knowledge of information and communication technology, with capacity to support the implementation of a technology platform for the College.
- A committed Christian who aligns with the values of ECWA, and be a person with outstanding moral character, and integrity, and uphold Governing Documents, ECWA Constitution and Byelaws.
- Must have a minimum of six (6) years to retirement from active service from the date of submission of application.

Method of Application
Position Summary
- Qualified applicants will play a crucial role in shaping the future of nursing by developing and implementing educational programs for aspiring nurses. They are responsible for creating curriculum, conducting lectures, and providing hands-on training to students. Nurse Educators also assess the progress of their students and provide guidance and support where necessary.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate students’ learning and contribute to curriculum development.
- Coordinate classroom and laboratory activities, evaluate student learning and maintain academic records and attendance.
- Develop scholarly pedagogic outputs such as syllabi, homework assignments and handouts.
- Promote collegiality within the academic community by serving on committees, participating in faculty and staff meetings and departmental activities.
- Stay current in the academic discipline through professional development opportunities.
- Be available for academic support outside of the classroom.
- Other responsibilities may be assigned.
Qualifications/ Experience
Applicants MUST:
- Possess a good first degree in Nursing Science (BNSc).
- Master’s degree in nursing or in Nursing Education is an added advantage.
- Must possess a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) or Nurse Educator certification.
- Be registered and licensed to practice by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria
- Minimum of 2 -4 years clinical and/or teaching experience.
- ICT skills (Microsoft Office, CBT, e-teaching tools).
- Be a committed Christian.
