Backend Engineer – E-commerce

Role Overview

  • Kaiglo is hiring a Backend Engineer to build, scale, and stabilize its e-commerce platform. The role focuses on backend services that power vendor onboarding, payments, orders, logistics, and overall platform performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain backend services using Java (11+) and Spring Boot
  • Develop and optimize RESTful APIs for web and mobile apps
  • Manage and optimize MongoDB databases
  • Integrate third-party services (Paystack/Flutterwave, logistics, SMS, email)
  • Implement Redis caching and support Kafka event-driven processes
  • Improve platform reliability, scalability, and security
  • Monitor, debug, and resolve backend issues using Sentry & Elasticsearch
  • Collaborate with frontend, product, and QA teams
  • Support logging, monitoring, and performance improvements
  • Run background jobs and scheduled tasks

Required Skills & Experience

  • 2–4 years experience as a Backend Engineer
  • Strong knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs
  • Experience with MongoDB, Redis, Kafka
  • Payment gateway integration experience
  • Knowledge of JWT/OAuth2 authentication
  • Experience with AWS (S3, SES) and Git
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills

Nice to Have

  • E-commerce or marketplace experience
  • Docker, CI/CD, Spring Cloud
  • Elasticsearch, observability tools
  • SMS gateway and mobile app support experience

Method of Application

  • Kaiglo is seeking a reliable, disciplined, and security-conscious Executive Driver (Spy Police background preferred) to support the daily transportation needs of the CEO. The ideal candidate must be professional, discreet, and familiar with Lagos road networks, particularly the Ikeja axis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely drive the CEO to and from work, meetings, and official engagements
  • Ensure strict adherence to road safety rules and company protocols
  • Maintain cleanliness, safety, and regular servicing of the assigned vehicle
  • Monitor vehicle performance and promptly report faults or maintenance needs
  • Plan efficient routes to avoid traffic and delays
  • Provide basic security awareness during movements
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
  • Support other official driving assignments as required

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience as a professional or executive driver
  • Spy Police, security, or paramilitary background is an added advantage
  • Valid Nigerian driver’s license
  • Strong knowledge of Lagos roads, especially Ikeja and its environs
  • Good communication skills and a calm demeanor
  • High level of integrity, alertness, and discipline
  • Must reside around Ikeja axis (mandatory)
