HR Consultant / HR Team Lead
We are currently seeking for an HR Consultant / HR Team Lead who will lead the firm’s HR consulting practice, providing strategic and operational human resource solutions to clients across various industries. The role involves managing client engagements, supervising the HR consulting team, developing HR frameworks, and ensuring the successful delivery of HR projects while supporting business development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
HR Consulting
- Lead and manage HR consulting projects from initiation to completion.
- Conduct HR audits, organizational assessments, and workforce diagnostics.
- Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks.
- Design organizational structures, job descriptions, competency frameworks, and career progression plans.
- Develop performance management systems, KPIs, and appraisal frameworks.
- Design compensation and benefits structures, salary benchmarking, and grading systems.
- Provide advisory services on employee relations, disciplinary processes, and HR best practices.
- Support clients with recruitment and talent acquisition assignments.
- Facilitate onboarding and employee orientation programmes for clients.
- Advise clients on Nigerian labour laws and HR compliance requirements.
- Develop succession planning and talent management strategies.
Team Leadership
- Supervise and mentor HR Associates.
- Allocate projects and monitor team performance.
- Review reports, policies, presentations, and client deliverables before submission.
- Coach team members to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews.
Business Development
- Identify opportunities to expand HR consulting services.
- Prepare technical and commercial proposals for prospective clients.
- Participate in client presentations, pitches, and business meetings.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Support marketing initiatives by contributing HR thought leadership articles, webinars, and events.
Project Management
- Develop project plans and timelines.
- Ensure projects are delivered within agreed scope, timelines, and budget.
- Prepare project reports and client presentations.
- Manage multiple consulting engagements simultaneously.
Training & Development
- Design and facilitate HR and management training programmes.
- Develop learning materials and workshop content.
- Deliver executive coaching and management development sessions where required.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Psychology, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
- A Master’s degree is an added advantage.
Professional Certifications
One or more of the following is preferred:
- CIPM
- SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP
- HRCI (PHR/SPHR)
- CIPD
- Any other relevant HR certification.
Experience
- Minimum of 6–8 years’ progressive HR experience.
- At least 3 years in HR consulting or a similar advisory role.
- Demonstrated experience leading HR projects and managing teams.
- Experience working with clients across multiple industries is an advantage.
