General Accounting Manager
Summary of Functions
- Directs and organizes all general accounting activities and accounting staff.
- Prepares accounting and financial reports and ensures accurate accounting systems and record keeping (IN line with ERP software).
- Controls the flow of funds, assets, and any valuable document throughout the organization/group and maintains the integrity and its information.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible to the CEO for all financial matters and sets parameters to maintain and provide financial data accurately and timely. Considers all departments/companies within the group.
- Capable of viewing and controlling multiple activities at a time.
- To establish group wide financial policies, objectives, programs to ensure the group of a continuously sound financial structure.
- Controls and maintains the integrity and information of funds, assets, stocks, securities, and valuable documents throughout the Group.
- Capable of setting up and following through a strong financial plan for the Group at least three years in advance.
- Capable of managing, delegating, and controlling workloads within the department all while maintaining team work and responsibility.
- Always evaluates legal ways to add value to the financial results of the Organization/Group in a timely manner.
- To seize opportunities generating income in terms of F/X services rendered within the Group, and any other transactional opportunity may come along.
- Continuous evaluation of operational, political, environmental and economic risk for the Group.
- Develop clear procedures and policies, job descriptions, and security controls for the staff within the department.
- To regulate, supervise and implement a timely, full and accurate set of accounting books of the firm reflecting all its activities in a manner commensurate with the relevant legislation and regulation in the territories of operation of the firm and subject to internal guidelines.
- To timely, regularly and duly prepare and present to the CEO financial statements/reports, and as deemed necessary and demanded from time to time by the CEO.
- To prepare and present for the approval of the CEO an annual budget, other budgets, financial plans, business plans, feasibility studies, investment memoranda and all other financial and business documents as may be required.
- To alert the CEO and to warn him regarding any irregularity, lack of compliance, lack of adherence, lacunas and problems whether actual or potential concerning the financial systems, the financial operations, the financing plans, the accounting, the audits, the budgets and any other matter of a financial nature or which could or does have a financial implication.
- To collaborate and coordinate the activities of outside suppliers of financial services hired or contracted by the firm, including accountants, auditors, financial consultants, underwriters and brokers, the banking system and other financial venues.
- To fully computerize all the above activities in a combined hardware-software and communications system which integrates with the systems of other members of the group of companies.
- Otherwise, to initiate and engage in all manner of activities, whether financial or other, conducive to the financial health, the growth prospects and the fulfillment of investment plans of the firm to the best of his ability and with the appropriate dedication of the time and efforts required.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess a B.Sc Degrees with 7 – 10 years relevant work experience.
