Financial Controller
The financial controller reports to the board and the director general. He or she serves as the chief accounting officer and will be a hands-on and participative leader who develops and direct the internal team to administer the institute’s organizational day to day finance, accounting, business operations and related planning functions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and oversee all academic, research and related programs for the school.
- Oversees the accounting and fiscal reporting of the school.
- Supports the director general to achieve the goal of the institute.
- Responsible for setting up the automated finance department reporting.
- Tracking all receipt and expenditure predominantly cashless where possible
- Works with the director general to attract donor agencies funding to support the institution with the aim of achieving financial independence from the seed funding within two years.
- Generate regular financial monthly report about the institution finance to the director general as required subject to target set by the governing council.
REQUIREMENTS
- A degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or any other related field.
- Certification in ACA.
- A minimum of 8 years’ experience in bursary and finance department of a university or major corporate with 3 years’ experience in management.
- Proven experience in setting up an automated transparent finance department.
- Resourceful and result oriented with entrepreneur, financial and skills.
- Ability to work with little or no supervision.
- Ability to demonstrate professionalism and work ethics.
- Strong operational orientation.
- Excellent leadership and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of research methods; data analytics software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
