JOB SUMMARY

• We are looking for a highly motivated and results-oriented Equity Trader to join our dynamic trading team. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing trading strategies across a range of equity instruments, managing risk effectively, and contributing to the overall profitability of the trading desk.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Execute trades across various equity instruments (stocks) based on market analysis and trading strategies.
• Monitor market movements in real time and react swiftly to changing market conditions.
• Manage risk effectively by implementing stop-loss orders and position-sizing strategies.
• Conduct in-depth fundamental and technical analysis of equity markets, including economic indicators, company financials, and market trends.
• Develop and refine trading strategies based on market analysis and research findings.
• Stay abreast of market news, regulatory changes, and other relevant market developments.
• Manage existing portfolio with a proven track record of achieving 10 – 15% consistent returns within the last year.
• Monitor and optimize portfolio performance, adjusting strategies as needed.
• Prepare regular performance reports and conduct portfolio reviews.
• Develop and back-test trading strategies based on technical analysis.
• Ensure all trading activities comply with relevant regulations and exchange rules.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date trading records.

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Authorized Dealing Clerk of the Nigerian Stock Exchange certification is mandatory.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Proficiency in technical analysis, including charting techniques, and the use of technical indicators.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent knowledge of financial markets, including equities, derivatives, and fixed income.
• Proficiency in using trading platforms and order management systems.
• Strong quantitative and data analysis skills
