Job Summary
- As a Cost Accountant, you will be a key member of the finance team, responsible for analyzing and managing cost-related activities, financial planning, and providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Your role will encompass overseeing financial transactions, analyzing costs, budget preparation, and assisting in the implementation and maintenance of financial systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing Monthly MIS: Generate Monthly Management Information System (MIS) reports, highlighting key financial metrics and performance indicators.
- Preparing Monthly Budget: Assist in the preparation of monthly budgets and forecasts, comparing actuals to budgets to identify variances and trends.
- Month-End Closing: Coordinate and participate in the month-end closing process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- LPGR & APGR Approvals: Review and approve LPGR (Local Purchase Goods Receipts) and APGR (Assets Purchase Goods Receipts) to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.
- Approving All JV’s: Validate and approve journal vouchers (JVs) to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Forex: Monitor foreign exchange transactions and their impact on financials, providing insights to manage forex-related risks.
- Creation of Masters in ERP: Utilize the Orion system to establish and maintain cost-related master data, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
- Maintaining the Provisions: Manage and maintain provisions for various financial transactions and obligations.
- Inventory Matching and Valuation: Oversee inventory accounting, matching purchase orders with receipts, and ensuring accurate valuation.
- Training, Supporting, and Guiding the Team: Provide training and support to team members on ERP and accounting-related matters, fostering a knowledgeable and efficient team.
- External & Internal Audit Support: Collaborate with auditors during external and internal audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
- Analysis and Activity Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of financial data, cost drivers, and activity-based costing to identify opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency improvements.
- Supporting Other Departments: Collaborate with other departments, providing relevant financial information to assist in decision-making processes.
- Local Sales Approvals: Review and approve local sales transactions, ensuring compliance with company policies and financial guidelines.
- Fixed Asset Register ownership and updating on regular intervals along with FA verification and propose amortizations if any.
Requirements
- ICAN is mandatory & 5 years of work experience in the related field.
- Proven experience as a Cost Accountant and expertise in MIS and month-end closure.
- Proficiency in using financial software and ERP systems (e.g. Orion).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Familiarity with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Advanced MS Excel skills.
- Certification in Cost Accounting is a plus.
