Content Marketer

Job Summary

  • The Content Marketing Officer is responsible for planning, creating, and distributing high-impact content across multiple channels, with a strong emphasis on video-content creation and strategy to drive brand awareness, engagement, and customer acquisition.
  • This role blends creativity with analytical thinking, owning the end-to-end content lifecycle including ideation, scripting, video production coordination, publishing, and performance tracking. The ideal candidate will leverage video, alongside written and digital content, to tell compelling stories that resonate with Sharperly’s audience, particularly within diaspora and migrant communities.
  • Working closely with the Growth Marketing Officer, Product, Graphic Designer, and Customer Success teams, the Content Marketing Officer ensures content supports marketing goals, strengthens brand positioning, enhances customer experience, and drives measurable growth. This is a hands-on, performance-driven role with strong ownership of video content creation, social media management, and content performance reporting.
  • The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of the fintech industry, including remittance, digital payments, and financial services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, create, and manage video-led content across platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn), including short-form and long-form formats.
  • Develop engaging video concepts, scripts, and storyboards aligned with marketing campaigns and product messaging.
  • Appear in or direct video content where necessary (e.g., product explainers, educational content, campaigns).
  • Manage Sharperly’s social media presence across platforms, including content planning, posting, scheduling, engagement, and engage the community via social platforms, responding to DMs and fostering audience interaction..
  • Develop and maintain content calendars aligned with marketing priorities and campaigns.
  • Collaborate with Growth Marketing Officer, designers, and internal teams to produce high-quality content that aligns with brand voice and company guidelines.
  • Develop, implement, and optimize content marketing strategies that scale across channels and drive measurable outcomes.
  • Manage external agencies, PR partners, freelance contributors, and coordinate with videographers or designers as needed.
  • Track, analyze, and report on content performance using analytics platforms, identifying trends and providing actionable recommendations.
  • Support campaign marketing efforts, including paid and organic social, search, and programmatic media.
  • Ensure all content supports audience engagement, product adoption, and business growth.
  • Stay up to date on content marketing and digital trends, SEO best practices, and emerging platforms.
  • Operate independently while collaborating effectively with peers, internal stakeholders, and external partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in content marketing, with strong experience in video content creation and strategy.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with experience creating blog, social, newsletter, and digital content.
  • Hands-on experience managing social media accounts, content calendars, and digital campaigns.
  • Familiarity with SEO, content optimization, and analytics tools (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, or similar).
  • Experience working with agencies, partners, or freelance contributors is a plus.
  • Creative, detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong relationship and communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Interest in fintech, digital products, or financial services is an advantage.
