Community Health Extension Worker
About the Role

- As a CHEW, you will play a vital role in supporting medical services, promoting preventive healthcare, and ensuring patients receive safe, quality, and timely care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct patient assessments and monitor health status, providing appropriate care and health advice.
- Perform routine clinical procedures such as checking vital signs, administering injections, and updating patient charts.
- Administer medications and treatments strictly as prescribed and under medical supervision.
- Respond promptly and effectively to medical emergencies.
- Support doctors during minor clinical and surgical procedures.
- Ensure accurate, complete, and timely documentation of medical records.
- Adhere strictly to hospital policies, safety standards, and infection prevention protocols.
- Participate in community health education, sensitization, and outreach programs.
Requirements
- OND or HND in Community Health Extension or a related discipline with a minimum of 2 years practical experience in patient care (post-qualification experience preferred).
- Valid registration and practising licence with the appropriate regulatory body.
- Prior pharmacy experience is an added advantage.
