Branch Manager
Job Summary
- The Branch Manager will be responsible for the overall leadership and management of the branch’s operations within the Generator Sales Division. This role requires a dynamic leader who can drive sales growth, manage profit and loss (P&L), ensure high-level customer satisfaction, and oversee the technical service team. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of commercial acumen and technical understanding of power generation to meet the branch’s revenue targets and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Drive the achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for generators, spare parts, and service contracts.
- Develop and execute strategic plans to expand the customer base in the industrial, commercial, and residential sectors.
- Identify new business opportunities and key accounts, maintaining strong relationships with major clients, contractors, and consultants.
- Oversee the tendering process for large-scale projects, ensuring competitive and profitable bids.
- Collaborate with the logistics team to ensure timely delivery of generators to customers.
Financial Management
- Manage the branch’s Profit & Loss (P&L) statement, controlling operational costs and overheads.
- Monitor cash flow, credit sales, and ensure prompt collection of receivables in line with company policy.
- Prepare and present regular branch performance reports (sales forecasts, market analysis, financial reports) to senior management.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of sales representatives, service technicians, and administrative staff.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, identify training needs, and foster a culture of high performance and customer-centricity.
- Ensure the branch team is fully knowledgeable about the technical specifications of generator models and brands.
Customer Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary point of escalation for major client issues, ensuring swift and effective resolution.
- Ensure the branch maintains a stellar reputation for integrity, technical competence, and after-sales support.
- Conduct regular site visits to key clients to ensure satisfaction and foster long-term partnerships.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) , Business Administration, or a related field.
- A Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a relevant professional certification (e.g., Project Management Professional – PMP) is an added advantage.
Experience:
- Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive work experience, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial role.
- Must have industry-specific experience in the sale, rental, or servicing of Power Generators (Diesel/Gas/Petrol) or heavy-duty industrial equipment.
- Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets in a B2B environment.
Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of generator technologies, control panels, and Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS).
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and electrical schematics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM software.
- Solid understanding of financial statements and key performance indicators (KPIs).
