Assistant Manager – Health, Safety and Environmemt
Job Summary
- Co-ordinate HSE activities to attain the company’s commitment to the health, the safety of personnel, contract workers, and the general public as well as fulfil the requirements of legal and other applicable requirements.
- Perform HSE audits and Inspect facilities, machinery, and equipment to identify and correct potential hazards.
- Design and Supervise the Implementation of safe work procedures and TGI group HSE Standards such as confined space, permits to work procedures among others.
- Conduct risk assessment of all operations within area of control and enforce preventive measures.
- Facilitate HSE Meetings and trainings.
- Conduct drills such as fire drills to ensure equipment is properly functioning and staffs are aware of what to do in an emergency.
- Provide technical advice, coaching, guidance and mentoring to employees on safety initiatives and necessary changes.
- Conduct and analyse statistical data related to occupational health, safety and Environment.
- Investigation of industrial accidents, near misses, injuries or occupational diseases to determine causes and preventive measures and establish trends.
- Co-ordinate responses to Emergencies involving health, safety and environment
- Attend Management Review Meetings of HSE system review and update of the site HSE management system
- Oversee the management and disposal of site waste according to the TGI Group and regulatory standard
- Monitor, Enforce and evaluate the compliance level of contractors and subcontractors to the business units and TGI Group HSE Management System.
- Coordinate and conduct contractor HSE Meetings and training.
- Establish and maintain HSE Communication structure and system, distribution of HSE specific document to contractors.
- Implementation of established integrated pest management system
- Monitor and Evaluate the implementation of cleaning and sanitation program
- Carry out any other duties as maybe assigned.
- Ensure compliance to applicable legal and other HSE requirements.
- Ensure data are used or processed for the purpose set for such data and ensure absolute confidentiality while processing or using personal data. Get the consent of the data subject before collecting, processing, and using data
- Adhere to the requirements of FSSC, Feed Safety, GMP and QMS as it relates to my job function.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science or Social Sciences.
- 4 – 7 years of experience
- Detailed knowledge of applicable laws, regulation and international best practises
- Ability to think critically in order to analyse HSE data and compile into usable materials and reports
- Leadership skills to manage contractor HSE representatives, HSE Personnel within the Northern region, first aiders and emergency responders and assign specific task as required.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and handle numerous assignments simultaneously.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
- Great problem solving skills.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills.
- Ability to effectively learn and acquire new knowledge and skills.
