Art Teacher
An internationally accredited school in Ibadan is seeking a creative and passionate Art Teacher to inspire students through visual arts education and foster creativity, artistic expression, and cultural appreciation.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, hands-on lessons in drawing, painting, sculpture, and other visual art forms.
- Encourage creativity, critical thinking, and individual artistic expression.
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and artistic abilities.
- Integrate historical and contemporary art concepts to enhance students’ understanding and appreciation of visual arts.
- Assess student progress through projects, assignments, and practical activities, providing timely and constructive feedback.
- Foster a positive classroom environment that promotes respect, responsibility, and creativity.
- Maintain an organized, safe, and inspiring art studio environment.
- Support students through artistic enrichment opportunities, exhibitions, and creative projects.
- Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to school-wide events and initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, or a related field (Master’s degree is an advantage).
- Relevant teaching certification or training in art instruction.
- Minimum of two (2) years of classroom teaching experience (experience preparing students for art exhibitions, competitions, portfolios, or creative showcases will be an added advantage)
- Strong portfolio demonstrating proficiency across a range of visual arts techniques and media.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English (French proficiency is an added advantage).
- Ability to inspire and engage students with varying artistic interests and skill levels.
