Accounting Intern (NYSC)
About the role
- We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented NYSC accounting graduate to support our finance and accounting department.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial records, performing various accounting tasks, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily reconciliation of transactions from various payment platforms.
- Identify discrepancies, investigate causes, and rectify or escalate issues as required.
- Maintain an updated knowledge of the company’s products, services, and customer service policies.
- Understand the foreign exchange market and the impact of currency fluctuations on the reconciliation process.
- Work closely with the Finance team to resolve reconciliation queries.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
- Prepare and present reports detailing reconciliation results.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to improve reconciliation processes and systems.
- Provide recommendations for system improvements to enhance financial efficiency and reduce reconciliation issues.
- Provide support to the broader finance team as needed.
Qualifications:
- Must be am Accounting graduate currently enrolled in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program.
- Strong passion for starting a career in accounting and finance.
- Detail-oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Eager to learn and develop your skills in a dynamic work environment.
- Basic to intermediate understanding of financial software and databases.
- Strong communication skills in English, both in writing and verbally.
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, challenging work environment.
