Accountant
Job Summary
- We are sourcing for an experienced Accountant to work in our client’s soft drink distribution outlet located around Lagos Island.
- The Accountantwill be charge with the responsibility of managing and preparing financial statements, managing budgets, handling taxes, performing audits, and providing financial insights to support key business decisions and strategic growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all financial transactions, including revenue, expenses, assets, and liabilities, often using general ledgers.
- Prepare periodic financial statements and analyze data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
- Develop budgets, track spending, and provide forecasts to help management plan for future financial goals.
- Conduct internal audits, resolve discrepancies, ensure compliance with accounting standards (GAAP) and tax laws, and prepare tax returns.
- Offer strategic recommendations for cost reduction, revenue enhancement, and improved profitability.
- Compute and file taxes, providing analysis and strategies to minimize tax liabilities.
Skills & Requirements
- HND/B.Sc. in Accounting, Auditing, Banking and Finance, Business Administration or any relevant field of study with minimum 2 years’ experience working as an Accountant.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities.
- IT Savvy
- Proficiency with accounting software and technologies.
- Knowledge of current financial legislation and standards.
- Excellent communication to explain findings to management or clients.
