We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Accountant to join our team and contribute to the financial health and success of our eCommerce business. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in the retail or FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) sectors, strong Excel and Google Sheets proficiency, excellent at managing large inventories and a knack for creating and managing efficient accounting systems while preventing fraud. Additionally, the candidate should be capable of setting up chart of accounts and onboarding on popular accounting platforms such as QuickBooks, Zoho Books, and others. The role will also require providing valuable insights and guidance on budgeting and interpreting our business numbers.

Financial Management:

• Oversee and manage accounting functions, ensuring the integrity of financial data.
• Reconcile sales transactions with bank accounts to confirm payment receipt.
• Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records for thousands of products and SKUs.
• Implement controls to prevent stock losses or theft.

Software Proficiency:

• Proficient in using Excel and Google Sheets for data analysis and reporting.
• Set up and manage accounting systems on platforms such as QuickBooks, Zoho Books, and other relevant software.

Fraud Prevention:

• Develop and implement anti-fraud measures to safeguard company assets and financial data.

Chart of Accounts:

• Set up and maintain an organized chart of accounts that aligns with our business needs.

Budgeting and Analysis:

• Collaborate with management to create and interpret budgets and financial reports.
• Provide insights into business performance based on financial data analysis.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience in accounting within the retail and FMCG industries.
• Strong proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets.
• Familiarity with accounting software like QuickBooks, Zoho Books, or equivalent.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of inventory management and stock control.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proactive in identifying financial issues and proposing solutions.
