Account Officer
Job Summary
As one of the company’s Account Officers, you will work to ensure compliance with the company’s policies in relation to the following:
- Account Reconciliation
- Credit & Sales Policies
- Sales Collection & Banking
- Float & Expenses Policy & management
- Inventory Management
- Stock Policy
- Budgeting Guidelines / Budget Implementation
- Statutory Dues Rendition.
Job Details
- Maintain and ensure accurate and up-to-date accounting records and inventory management across branches and locations.
- Ensure that all financial records containing stock and inventory, customer’s purchases, debts and other details across all locations are updated.
- Responsible for customer account reconciliation and accounts receivables.
- Escalate to management possible threats related to high customer debt profile and other discrepancies.
- Analyse trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses.
- Report the organization’s finances to management and offer suggestions about resource utilization, tax strategies and assumptions underlying budget forecasts.
- Conduct debtors and ledger reconciliations
- Monitor and reconciled financial/transactional discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
- Support month-end and year-end financial closing activities
- Investigate and resolve unreconciled balances
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, accounting and internal controls by recommending standard procedures.
- Track outstanding payments and recovery processes
- Analyze financial data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency
- Collaborate with treasury and finance teams on financial operations
- Prepare and post journal entries and account adjustments
- Ensure timely reconciliation of all assigned accounts
- Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents.
- Ensure accurate capturing of sales records, debts and customer details.
- Comply with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
- Maintain customer confidence and protect operations by keeping financial information confidential.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
